55 - Red eye

You have never had me
You have never known me
I have met you in other people
But never in myself

I won’t let you get me
I will never open my door for you
I feel sorry for those who did
I admire the ones brave enough
To ask you to leave

Red eye

  2. Really good. I have a particular personal opinion on the subject in your today's 55 as I read it. My husband is clean and sober nine years now and he and I do not drink alcohol. My father was an alcoholic. This post could be one for the twelve step programs everywhere.

  4. Oh, brilliant! It took me a minute to get the picture....looking into a glass of wine, methinks? And it really does just look like a red eye. Truly awesome 55, Johanna. Moderation is the key. Unfortunately that isn't possible for everyone. Thanks for visiting me. I'm happy to have met you! I think I'm gonna tag along....

  5. Brian: Thank you. I had an image in my head writing this, but you are right, this could be about any of the "Its" sucking the life from us.
Technobabe: Thank you. You nailed it. :)
    Hilary: Thank you. :)
Yvonne: Thank you so much. A glass of wine it is. And looking like a red eye it does. You are most welcome to tag along. :)

  10. A smart man learns from his mistakes. A wise man learns from the mistakes of others. Better to not get red eye to begin with.
